Why people use GrantMatch Care

The system is complicated. We make it simple.

Many people in Ireland miss out on supports they're fully entitled to — not because they don't need them, but because the welfare and healthcare systems are difficult to navigate. Eligibility rules are complex, forms are confusing, and entitlements change regularly.

GrantMatch Care researches the supports you may qualify for, explains what they are, how much they're worth, and what steps you need to take to apply. We do the research so you don't have to.

Whether it's a medical card, a disability payment, a housing adaptation grant, or a carer's allowance — if it exists and you might qualify, we'll find it.

Common questions

FAQ

Answers to the questions we get asked most.

Who is GrantMatch Care for?
GrantMatch Care is for anyone in Ireland who has a disability, long-term illness, or health condition — or who cares for someone who does — and wants to find out what government supports, grants, and payments they may be entitled to. It's also suitable for family members researching on behalf of a loved one.
How long does the questionnaire take?
Around 10–15 minutes. We ask about your personal and household circumstances, your health situation, your current income, and any supports you're already receiving. The more accurately you answer, the more precisely we can match you. You don't need any documents to hand — we'll tell you what you'll need when we send your report.
What if I've already applied for some supports and been rejected?
A previous rejection doesn't necessarily mean you're ineligible. Eligibility rules change, circumstances change, and many initial decisions can be appealed or reconsidered. Your report will flag supports worth revisiting based on your current situation. If you choose Care Premium, we'll also review any previous decision letters and help you with an appeal or reapplication.
Will getting new supports affect my existing payments?
Some supports are means-tested, which means receiving one could in theory affect another. Your report will flag any potential interactions between supports where we're aware of them. For complex situations — particularly where multiple social welfare payments are involved — we always recommend discussing with your local Citizens Information Centre or a social welfare advisor before applying.
Is this service suitable for carers as well as the person with the illness or disability?
Absolutely. Carers are often entitled to significant supports in their own right — including Carer's Allowance, Carer's Benefit, the Carer's Support Grant, and the Home Support Service. Our questionnaire covers both the person receiving care and the person providing it.
How is GrantMatch Care different from Citizens Information?
Citizens Information is an excellent free service for general queries. GrantMatch Care is personalised — we assess your specific circumstances against the full range of relevant supports and produce a report tailored to you, telling you exactly what you're likely to qualify for and how to apply. We also offer application assistance for those who want help completing the paperwork, not just the information.
What conditions or circumstances do you cover?
We cover a wide range of circumstances including physical disabilities, chronic illness, mental health conditions, sensory impairments, acquired brain injuries, intellectual disabilities, and age-related needs. We also cover carers, people in housing need due to disability, and those with significant ongoing medical costs. If you're unsure whether your situation is covered, email us at hello@grantmatch.ie before purchasing.
Can I upgrade from Care Basic to Plus or Premium after getting my report?
Yes. Many customers start with Care Basic to see what supports they qualify for, then upgrade to Plus or Premium when they decide they'd like help with the applications. Just email us at hello@grantmatch.ie after receiving your report and we'll arrange the upgrade — you'll only pay the difference.
When will I receive my report after paying?
After payment, you'll receive an immediate link to the eligibility questionnaire. Once you complete it, your report is delivered within 48 hours. For questionnaires submitted before 12pm on a weekday, we aim for same-day delivery. Reports are not sent on weekends or bank holidays.
Is my personal information kept confidential?
Yes. Your information is used only to research your eligibility and prepare your report. We do not share your data with any third parties, government departments, or other organisations. Please see our Privacy Policy for full details.
